Energy Efficiency Upgrade and Modernization of Athens’ Street Lighting Network
Project Description
The project undertaken by Future Technologies, on behalf of Globiled, concerned the energy efficiency upgrade and modernization of the street lighting network in public spaces of the Municipality of Egaleo, under a contract for the supply and implementation of LED lighting and energy management systems.
The project’s objectives were:
- the replacement of 5,000 existing conventional lighting fixtures with modern LED lighting
- the improvement of energy efficiency
- the support of consumption monitoring through a lighting management system.
The implementation of the project covered the entire administrative area of the Municipality and included dismantling works, installation of new equipment, and support for the digital recording of lighting data
Future Technologies’ Role and Actions
Future Technologies participated in the project as the contractor responsible for executing the works, undertaking the following tasks:
- Dismantling of existing street lighting fixtures
- Installation of new LED lighting fixtures
- Support for the installation and activation of energy meters
- Electronic registration of the new lighting fixtures and meters in the Lighting Management System (LMS)
- Coordination of field operations within the municipal boundaries
- Compliance with the required safety measures and the project’s technical specifications
